In the recently concluded IPL auction, Riyan Parag was again bought by the Rajasthan Royals.

The 20-year-old all-rounder was bought for INR 3.8 crores, almost 13 times his base price

Here are 10 interesting facts about this young sensation

1) On 10 November 2000, Riyan Parag was born in Guwahati, Assam in India.

2) His father Parag Das played first-class cricket for Assam and also Railways in the Ranji Trophy

On the other hand, her mother Mithoo Barooah was a swimmer and a national record holder in the 50m freestyle. She also represented India in Asian Championships and SAF Games.

3) At the age of 3, Parag met MS Dhoni for the very first time

When Parag made his IPL debut for RR against CSK, a picture of the two surfaced on social media

4) In 2017, Parag made his Youth Test debut against the England U-19 side.

He scored half-centuries in both the innings and in the second innings, he scored his half-century in just 33 balls, the 2nd fastest fifty in the history of Youth Test cricket.

5) In January 2017, Riyan Parag made his T20 debut for Assam in the 2016–17 Inter-State T20 Tournament

He made his T20 debut when he was only 15 years and 80 days old and became the 2nd youngest Indian cricketer in T20 history.

6) Parag was a member of the Indian U-19 side that won the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.

7) At the age of 16 years and 7 days, Parag made his first-class debut for Assam in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy

Thus, he became the 1st Indian first-class player to have been born in the 21st century.

8) A right-handed batsman and a leg-break bowler, Riyan made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals against the Chennai Super Kings

17 years and 152 days old at that time, Parag became the 3rd youngest IPL debutant after Prayas Ray Barman (16y 157d) and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman (17y 011d).

9) Riyan Parag is only the 2nd Assamese cricketer after Abu Nechim Ahmed to appear in the IPL

10) At the age of 17 years and 175 days, Parag scored his first IPL fifty.

By doing so, he became the youngest cricketer to score an IPL fifty
