Prasidh Krishna, the right-arm fast bowler from Karnataka, is one of the most exciting names in Indian cricket.

One of the few Indian fast bowlers who can consistently bowl at 90 mph, Prasidh has impressed cricket fans worldwide.

So, here we have listed down 12 little-known facts about Prasidh Krishna

1) On 19 February 1996, Prasidh Krishna was born in the city of Bangalore in India

2) Prasidh’s mother was a national-level volleyball player while his father played cricket for his college

3) From an early age, Prasidh was a sports enthusiast and used to play volleyball and badminton during his school days

He trained under Srinivas Murthy in his cricket academy in Bengaluru

3) He was influenced by Australian pacer Brett Lee and even modeled his bowling action upon Brett

4) In 2017, Prasidh trained under Australian legend Glenn Mcgrath at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai

5) Prasidh made his first-class debut for Karnataka against a touring Bangladesh-A team in Mysore

He dismissed Ronu Talukdar off the very first ball he bowled in this match, and then picked the wickets of Anamul Haque, Nasir Hossain, and Soumya Sarkar.

He ended up picking a fifer (5-49) in the first innings as his team managed to beat the Bangladesh-A team by four wickets.

6) On 25 February 2017, Prasidh made his List-A debut for Karnataka against Jharkhand in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy

Prasidh Krishna was the highest wicket-taker for Karnataka in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 13 dismissals, including a match-winning spell of 3-37 in the finals.

7) On 21 January 2018, he made his T20 debut for Karnataka against Punjab in the 2017–18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

In April 2018, he was bought by KKR as a replacement for Kamlesh Nagarkotifor for the 2018 IPL

8) On 6 May 2018, Krishna made his IPL debut for KKR against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium

In that IPL, Krishna picked up 10 wickets from 7 matches, including a match-winning spell of 4-30 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

9) On 23 March 2021, he made his ODI debut for India against England at the MCA stadium in Pune

He ended with figures of 4-54 in the match and became the first Indian cricketer to pick 4 wickets on debut.

10) On 9 Feb 2021, he ended with figures of 4-12 against the West Indies in Ahmedabad and bagged his first ‘Man of the Match’ award

11) Prasidh picked his maiden ten-wicket haul in first-class matches against Jammu and Kashmir in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy

12) Prasidh Krishna was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping INR 10 crores in the 2022 IPL auction
