Mohammad Rizwan is one of the finest wicket-keeper batsmen of the modern era in all three formats of the game.

A right-handed batsman, Rizwan may not be as talented as Babar Azam but has this gritty attitude of occupying the crease.

So, today we have listed down 15 riveting facts about this fine wicket-keeper batsman.

1) On 1 June 1992, Mohammad Rizwan was born in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan.

2) Big admirer of Adam Gilchrist, Rizwan made his First-Class debut for Peshawar in 2008 at the age of 16

3) Playing for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Fighters, Rizwan played an 87-ball 103 run knock against Baluchistan Warriors and helped his team clinch the Pentangular One Day Cup

4) In 2014-15, playing for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2014–15, Mohammad Rizwan scored 224 to help his team win their second title

This knock impressed the selectors and pushed his case for a spot on the national side.

5) In April 2015, he made his ODI debut for Pakistan against Bangladesh and scored an impressive 67 runs off 58 balls

6) In 2018, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) awarded Rizwan a central contract along with 33 other Pakistani players

7) He captained Pakistan in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup and helped Pakistan reach the semi-finals

8) In March 2019, in the second ODI against Australia, Rizwan scored his first ODI century (115 runs) in Sharjah

9) In February 2021, Rizwan scored his first Test century ( 115 runs ) against South Africa in Rawalpindi

Pakistan managed to beat South Africa 2-0 in that series, and Rizwan was awarded the player of the series.

10) In February 2021, Rizwan scored his first T20I century ( 104 runs ) in Lahore

By doing so, he became only the second wicketkeeper-batsman to score a T20I century

11) In April 2021, in Centurion, Rizwan and Babar Azam stitched a massive 197 run partnership for the first wicket

This was the highest partnership record for Pakistan for any wicket in T20I cricket.

12) In June 2021, Rizwan led Multan Sultans to their first PSL victory, and also became the Wicket-Keeper of the Tournament.

13) In December 2021, Mohammad Rizwan became the first batsman to score 2,000 T20 runs in a calendar year

14) He was named PCB’s T20I Cricketer of the Year for 2021

15) ICC named Rizwan ICC Men’s T20 cricketer of the Year for 2021
