Litton Das, the Bangladeshi wicket-keeper batsman, is one of the best Bangladeshi cricketers of this generation

Playing for Bangladesh, Litton has recently scored an impressive century against Sri Lanka at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka

So here, we have listed down 20 interesting facts about Litton Das

1) On 13 October 1994, Litton Das was born in a Bengali Hindu family in Dinajpur, Bangladesh

2) On 17 October 2011, at the age of 17, Litton Das made his first-class debut for Rangpur Division against Dhaka Division in the National Cricket League

3) Das played for the Bangladesh U-19 team in the 2012 and 2014 Under-19 World Cup

4) In the 2014–15 National Cricket League, playing for the Rangpur Division, Litton scored 1,024 runs at an average of 85.33, which included five centuries

These efforts helped Rangpur Division win the 2014-15 championship.

5) On 10 June 2015, Litton Das made his international test debut for Bangladesh at Fatullah

In this match, he played a quick 44 run knock in 45 balls and got out to Ravichandran Ashwin

6) In January 2017, playing for the east zone, Litton scored his maiden double-century in first-class cricket against the central zone in the 2016–17 Bangladesh Cricket League

7) In 2017, Litton was the highest run-getter in the 2016–17 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, with 752 runs in 14 matches.

In April 2018, he was the highest run-getter in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League, with 779 runs in six matches.

8) On 5 August 2018, Litton Das played a superb 61 run knock ( off 32 balls ) against the West Indies and won the ‘Player of the Match’ award

9) On 28 September 2018, in the final of the 2018 Asia Cup, Litton Das scored his maiden ODI century in Dubai

He scored 121 runs in the match and managed to win the “Player of the Match” award

10) In April 2019, Litton played an unbeaten 94 run knock in his World Cup debut match against the West Indies in the 2019 Cricket World Cup

In this match, he built an unbeaten 189-run partnership with Shakib Al Hasan and guided Bangladesh to a famous 7-wicket victory.

11) In November 2019, he scored 455 runs for Rajshahi Royals in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)

12) In March 2020, Litton scored 126 runs against Zimbabwe and became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score a hundred at Sylhet.

13) On 6 March 2020, Litton Das scored 176 runs off 143 balls, the highest individual score by any Bangladeshi cricketer in ODI cricket.

In this match, Litton and Tamim Iqbal added 292 runs for the first wicket, the highest partnership for Bangladesh in ODIs

14) In February 2021, Litton was the highest run scorer for Bangladesh in the Test series against the West Indies

15) In November 2021, in the first match against Pakistan at Chittagong, Das scored his first century in Test cricket

16) In January 2022, Litton Das scored 102 runs in the second test in Christchurch, his first test century in away test matches.

He scored 196 runs in this Test series and was Bangladesh’s highest run-getter in the series

17) In January 2022, Litton Das attained No.12 in the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings in Tests, the highest ranking for any Bangladesh cricket

18) In February 2022, Litton Das scored 223 runs against Afghanistan in a 3-match ODI series in Chittagong.

He scored a century and a half-century in the series and won the ‘Player of the series’ award

19) On 23 May 2022, Litton Das scored his third test century against Sri Lanka at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka

20) Litton has played for domestic T-20 leagues all over the world including CPL, PSL, and BPL
