Ayush Badoni, with his superb batting in IPL 2022, has impressed all cricket fans and experts worldwide.

This 22-year-old Delhi cricketer, in his first two IPL matches, not only has impressed us with his shots but also with his ability to absorb pressure.

So here, we have listed 14 interesting facts about Ayush Badoni.

1) On 3 December 1999, Ayush Badoni was born in Delhi, India

2) His father is a documentary filmmaker, and his mother is a school teacher.

3) At a young age, his childhood coach Balraj Kumar convinced his parents to let him pursue a cricket career.

Balraj made a cement pitch for him in his house at Shalimar Bagh so that he could train Ayush

4) Later, Badoni’s father enrolled Ayush in Sonnet Cricket Club, where he trained under Dronacharya-award winner, late coach Tarak Sinha

5) In 2018, Ayush Badoni, playing for the India U-19 team, smashed a superb 185* run knock in a youth Test against the Sri Lanka U-19 team

He also played an insane 52 run inning ( off 28 balls ) in the final of the U-19 Asia Cup

6) All these knocks at the U-19 level, caught the attention of Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid

He was very impressed with his skills and insisted the then DDCA chairman Atul Wassan give special attention to him

7) In 2020, at the DDCA selection meeting, Atul Wassan did propose his name, but former U-19 captain Unmukt Chand got selected ahead of him.

8) In the same year, Wassan sent him for the Mumbai Indians selection trials under Kiran More

Badoni got selected in the list of the first 30 players but failed to make it to the final team.

9) On 11 January 2021, Ayush made his T-20 debut for Delhi in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

10) Ayush got a single match opportunity for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and sat idle for the rest of the season

11) Ayush Badoni was bought by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for 20 lacs in the 2022 IPL auction

12) In the LSG camp, captain KL Rahul nicknamed him ‘Baby de Villiers’ for his ability to hit the ball 360 degrees around the ground like the great AB de Villiers.

13) On 28 March 2022, he made his IPL debut for Lucknow Super Giants against the Gujarat Titans

In this match, Ayush Badoni batted ahead of Krunal Pandya and scored 54 runs off 41 balls.

14) In his second IPL match against CSK, he played a crucial 19 run knock ( off 9 balls ) to help his team chase down a mammoth total
