1) On 31 July 1997, Asitha Fernando was born in Katuneriya in Sri Lanka

He completed his graduation from the prestigious St. Sebastian’s College

2) Fernando was the leading pacer for Sri Lanka in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

3) on 8 July 2017, Asitha Fernando made his ODI debut for Sri Lanka at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium but didn’t get to pick a wicket.

4) On 24 February 2018, he made his T20 debut for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club in the 2017–18 SLC T20 Tournament

5) Fernando, with six dismissals in three matches, was the highest wicket-taker for Dambulla in the 2018 Super Provincial One Day Tournament

6) In the 2019–20 SLC T20 Tournament, Fernando picked six wickets for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club

7) In October 2020, he was drafted to Galle Gladiators in the first season of the Lanka Premier League.

8) On 3 January 2021, he made his international Test debut for Sri Lanka against South Africa in Johannesburg

9) On 19 February 2022, in the final of the 2021/22 National Super League, Fernando ended with figures of 5-44 at Pallekele

10) On 27 May 2022, Fernando grabbed a ten-wicket haul against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium

With this performance, Asitha Fernando became the 3rd fast bowler to pick a ten-wicket haul in Bangladesh.
